Therefore, take the booklet with the gold leaf in your hands and open it carefully. Uncover half of the gold as you can see in the picture.
By doing so, you will automatically apply a slight pressure to half of the gold leaf. The slight pressure ensures that the loose gold leaf will not fall out of the booklet.
With a pair of round tongs, you can now easily tear off large and small pieces of the gold leaf and place them directly on your delicacies.
Technique 3: Gilding foods in Water
For this technique, we recommend you to work with a special brush for gold leaf. First, prepare a big enough bowl with water and put the food you want to gild on skewers.
Then carefully open the booklet with the gold leaf and hold it in one hand near the water bowl. Take the special brush in the other hand and carefully touch the gold leaf.
The static will cause the gold to immediately adhere to the brush so that you can carefully place it on the surface of the water.
Now slowly dip the food into the water in the middle of the gold as shown in the picture.
